Reservoir is located 12km North of the CBD, bounded by the Merri Creek in the West, and the Darebin Creek in the East. Reservoir is a mixed use suburb in Melbourne’s North. Preston is located 9km north-east of the CBD, bounded by the Merri Creek in the West and the Darebin Creek in the East. Preston is a mixed use suburb in Melbourne’s North. Thornbury is located 7km North-East of the CBD. Located between the Merri Creek in the West and the Darebin Creek in the East. Thornbury is part of the City of Darebin which supports a diverse population of 131,000 in the mid-north of greater Melbourne. The municipality has a broad multicultural population base. Thornbury features many areas of open space, including the Hayes, Mayer, Penders and John Cain Memorial Parks and the Sir Douglas Nicholls Reserve.
Thomastown is located 15km north of the CBD. Bounded by the Merri Creek in the west and Mahoneys Road in the South. It is a residential and industrial suburb in Melbourne’s outer north. The suburb features the High Street commercial area and is traversed by the Edgars Creek and its accompanying park system.
Mill Park is located 19 km north-east of the CBD. Mill Park has been one of the fastest growing new suburbs in Melbourne over the last 20 years. It has been the major focus of new residential development in the Epping corridor. Although primarily residential in nature, the suburb features a major shopping facility, the Mill Park Stable Shopping Centre and Latrobe University Research Development Estate.
Epping is located 20km North of the CBD. It has been one of the major areas of new residential development in the Plenty corridor, North of Melbourne. The suburb has a young age structure dominated by families. The suburb features the terminus of the suburban railway line, Epping Plaza Shopping Centre, The Northern Hospitial, Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE- Epping Campus.
